When conditions are right for cloud inversions in Death Valley, fragments of atmosphere can linger in the badlands for days. These poetic interplays of form and texture are great prompts for the imagination. If that cloud and those cliffs were speaking to each other, what would they say? Such questions are great sources of amusement and can help to focus photographic ‘seeing’ in the field.
