Shoulder of Giants
Dolomites, Italy, 2018 (Photographed in 2017)
There are only a couple of small windows of time each year when golden hour light can reach this handsome little peak on a shoulder area between much larger mountains around it. It has much more famous neighbors, but it’s my favorite peak in the area because of its wonderful shape that changes dramatically as you hike around it. People actually ski down the back of it, a feat that is not particularly extreme because of how gentle its slope becomes on the other side.
Full details of my 2019 Dolomites workshop series will be announced soon. I am currently taking names for the early notification list, so get in touch through my website, email, or a message if you would like to be on that list. All of my 2018 workshops (in all regions) are currently full, but waitlists are available.
