Remote river canyon of Arizona, 2016
I sloshed through shin-high water for ten miles to get to this point of a remote river canyon and back again. And all for a little vignette of mud! Although I experimented with photographing some other discoveries, this one excited me the most of everything that I saw in the canyon’s farthest reaches. The two layers of mud, one more wet than the other, reminded me of waves breaking on a shore, and I was delighted to find them seemingly crashing into each other in slow motion.
