Flowers for Miles
Dolomites, Italy (2014)
This mountain likes to play hard to get. I spent three days pointing a camera at it, and it revealed itself to me one evening only for a few minutes. The rest of the time it remained cloaked in thick layers of clouds and mist, occasionally teasing me with partial glimpses before retreating back into the safety of its nebulous defenses. Perhaps it doesn’t realize that there are a lot of other mountains in the world, and I don’t have to wait around for it. At least it did finally give me the full monty, so maybe there is a future for us after all.
